The navies of Brazil, Buenos Aires, Colombia and Russia according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 26 June 1826

London, 21 June. At Spithead arrived the Russian corvette of war Onderneming [Dutch spelling] commanded by captain Kotzebue after a voyage of 3 years including visiting Manila (departure 23 January), Atlantic Ocean and the coast of Kamtschatka. She intended to stay for 10 days at Spithead before returning to Petersburg.
Letters from Montevideo dated 16 April received last Saturday at Liverpool mentioned that the fleet of Buenos Aires commanded by Brown attacked 11 April with success the Brazilian blockade squadron and which the largest Brazilian frigate almost was destroyed.

The brig Protektor arrived from Carthagena where she departed 27 April without bringing new important tidings. Her appearance was quite a surprise being built in the United Kingdom for the Colombian government and fitted out as warship. Rumours were that the Colombians didn’t accept her, just like refusing some other ships built in Europe.
