The Russian Black Sea Fleet according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad daily edition dated Sunday 4 June 1939

According to a tiding from Domei using reliable intelligence from Tokyo passed on last Wednesday 18 warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet the Dardanelles towards the Far East. It was common believed that this departure was made possible as a result of the recent signed agreement between Russia and Turkey. The strength of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea was now reported as consisting of 1 battleship, 4 cruisers, 5 destroyers, 2 torpedo boats, 12 submarines, 10 motor boats and several minesweepers.
