Dutch naval movements in the Dutch East Indies according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 22 January 1850

The Hague, 21 January. According to tidings from the Dutch East Indies left the Zr.Ms. steamship Semarang (1) the dry dock at Soerabaja and was now the Zr.Ms. steamship Vesuvius (2) docked. It appeared that the latter shis needed very large repairs. The Samarang was waiting for her engines, which were repaired at the so-called 's lands constructionwinkel’ [government plant] at Surabaya and would be afterwards completely ready to retain service.

1. Screw steamship 4th class, laid down at the shipyard Nederlandse Stoomboot Maatschappij Fijenoord, Rotterdam on 15 September 1845, launched in September 1846, stricken 1863, dimensions 38,00 x 7,21 x 2,85 metres, displacement of 400 tons, horsepower 70 nhp and an armament of 7 guns.
2. Paddle steamship, laid down at the navy yard ar Rotterdam on 8 October 1840, launched on 27 June 1843, stricken and sold in 1857, dimensions 43,00 x 8,60 x 4,10 metres, horsepower 140 hp and an armament of 7 guns.
