The blockade of Cadiz by the French navy according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 27 August 1823

London, 23 August. Lloyds received the tiding that the British merchant ship Spanish Patriot which regularly sailed between London and Cadiz was hold by the French squadron while she wanted to run that blockade at Cadiz. Her cargo had a value of 20.000 pound sterling. Her crew of 12 men was sent to France and the ship towards San Lucar.
