The British and Russian navies according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 19 January 1827

Paris, 15 January. Three British ships of the line anchored 27 and 28 December 1826 on the Taag, Portugal with on board of the Windsor Castle general Clinton.

From Petersburg arrived the tidings that the emperor which had a large interest in the navy intended to found a naval staff with prince Mentchikoff as head. At Kronstadt was a school for maritime engineers founded, the scholars were to be regularly trained on board of warships.
