The Egyptian navy in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 18 January 1827

Trieste, 2 January. There were just a few tidings coming from the Levant received. The Egyptian fleet lost in a second storm an other transport loaded with victuals and clothes. According to tidings of a master which arrived in 12 days from Zante, lost some transports due to the storms contact with the fleet and were others wrecked. A ship which arrived from Constantinople met 15 days earlier off Cape Sapienza 18 Egyptian ships. It was thought that they left Navarino searching for the disappeared transports.
