The Egyptian and the Spanish navies according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 17 April 1826

Stockholm, 28 March. The pasha of Egypt send a agent to the Swedish gun foundry to buy guns for the frigate which was build at Livorno, and perhaps also for the ship of the line which he wanted to have. It’s not certain if there will be really guns ordered.

London, 11 April. According to American papers with as youngest date 17th March arrived at Havana a strong, well fitted out Spanish naval division, to be followed within days by 3 ships of the line and that in the meantime the division landed 1.200 men. The division was ordered to cruise off the Colombian coasts. Despite the worse Spanish government finances received every man on board 5 months wages in advance.
