The Egyptian, Greek and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 26 October 1825

Augsburg, 20 October. The newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung published a tiding dated Constantinople 24 September according to which the Turkish fleet commanded by the Captain Pasha was scattered by the Greek fleet in the waters of Candia. According to tidings dated Livorno 12 October was the expedition at Alexandria fitted out by the Pasha a month earlier prepared than scheduled. This was caused by the Greek efforts to burn the port of this city. The Austrian ship Savero was destroyed by Greek pirates.
