The end of the German navy according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 2 September 1852

The newspaper Weser Zeitung reported from Bremerhaven 27 August that while the most of the ships of the so-called German fleet were sold also the officers, which were appointed, could be dismissed excluded the personnel which temporarily still was needed. The newspaper complained that preferred was to dismiss the Germans so that the remaining officers in fact were foreigners.
