The French navy in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 18 August 1825

Paris, 14 August. According to telegraphic tidings from Lyon was left 9 August the frigate la Galathée (1) the harbour transporting Sidi Achmed to Tunis and that the next day left the transport Rhinoceros (2) with victuals for the French squadron in the Levant. The transport corvette la Seine (3) and the gabarre la Chevrette (4) coming from Rochefort and lately from Cadiz, Spain arrived 10 August at Toulon. The goelette la Torche (5) arrived the same day. She assisted the last days Mr. Bios of the Royal Academy of France for astronomic and physical research dealing with the measurements of the earth globe.
