The Greek, Russian and Turkish navies according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 19 June 1827

London, 13 June. According to rumours was a Russian squadron of 9 ships of the line and 9 frigates fitted out for immediate service to depart for sea with the end of May. Some rumours claimed that is were just for training of the crews in the Black Sea, other rumours claimed to act against the Turkish. The newspaper l’Etoile dated the 16th doubted that destination.

Frankfurt, 13 June. According to the newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung dated the 11th went Cochrane around 11-15 May for Poros to collect as much Greek vessels as possible to attack the Turkish fleet which left the Dardanelles towards Negroponte. However some of these vessels as they were the property of their masters already left the harbour to take care of their own affairs.
