The
Spanish navy consisted conforming the Heraldo of 3 ships of the line, namely
the 80 gun el Heroe, and the el Soberano and el Guerrero, the latter both of 74
guns, 6 frigates of the 1st and 2nd rate, armed with 44-74 guns, 5 corvettes,
armed with 16-28 guns, 6 brigs, armed with 12-20 guns, 2 brig-goelettes armed
with 5-10 guns, 6 goelettes armed with 1-3 guns, 2 packet boats armed with 1
gun, 1 coastguard vessel, 1 feluc and 6 steamships armed with 2-10 guns and
30-340 hp. Above this were 1 frigate, 2 brigs and 3 transports, armed with 2-6
guns.
