Tidings
from Smyrna arrived at Constantinople 19 March that the squadron commanded by
Tahir-Pacha, consisting of 1 frigate, 2 corvettes and 4 brigs with 1,500 men
landing troops arrived in the night of 12-13 March off Scio, destroying or
capturing there Greeks ships. The 12th were the troops landed and the castle
freed. Almost at the same date of the arrival of the tidings returned
Tahir-Pacha at Constantinople.
