Activities of Colombian privateers according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 15 September 1821

Paris, 10 September. The merchant brig la Bonne Intention master Savary arrived at Honfleurs coming from Marseille and is now placed in quarantine. The newspaper of Rouen reported that this ship since her departure from Marseille was due to bad weather when leaving the Strait of Gibraltar twice was forced to visit Malaga. The 2nd August she met two privateers of the Independents, one of 18 and the other of 24 guns and which take her master and four other crewmembers prisoner and robbing them of everything except for their clothes. Also a part of her cargo was plundered. After 7 hours they released her master allowing him to continue his voyage.
