British corvettes on trials according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 16 October 1824

London, 12 October. The newly build corvettes Champion (1), Orestes (3) and Pylades (3) were ordered to cross west of the islands of Kitty to testify their speed. The 28-gun frigate Nieman (4) captain Wallis and the Algerine (5) captain Stopford would escort them.

1. A 18 gun sloop launched at the Portsmouth dockyard 31 May 1824 and broken up 1867.
2. A 18 gun sloop launched at the Portsmouth dockyard 1 May 1825 and sold around 1905.
3. A 18 gun sloop launched at the Woolwich dockyard 29 June 1824 and broken up in 1845.
4. A 28 gun fir built 6th rate launched at the Woolwich dockyard 23 November 1820 and broken up in 1828.
5. A 10 gun brig sloop launched at the Deptford dockyard 1 August 1829 and sold in 1844.
