According to the
newspaper Utrechtsche Courant published a tiding from Curacao dated 26 May that
when the Dutch subjects on the island St. Domingo asked for protection the
governor of Curacao the schooner Transit sent
with a lieutenant and some armed soldiers with messages for the government.
With the schooner came 16 passengers back to Curacao.
