The liquidation of the Belgian navy according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad evening edition dated 24 February 1927

The liquidation of the Belgian flotilla was not as unproblematic as the Belgian government believed in advance. After her decision to decrease the costs were via her consuls the governments of other countries approached if they were interested in the torpedo boats. However none reacted and so none torpedo boat was yet sold. Of the smaller patrol vessels was one for 33,000 francs sold to the Belgian sportsman baron de Caters but the Belgian government refused to agree with this provision sell which found place at Brugge. Three other vessels were handed over to the town Antwerp for hail services on the Schelde and two others to the Congo colony. The Finance Ministry was ordered to sell the remaining patrol vessels.
