An item reported that a French syndicate of shipyards would built four guided missile boats (1) for Greece. The keel of the first one was already laid down at Cherbourg. The design was similar to the earlier built boats for Israel although somehow heavier. The armament would consisted of sea target missiles.
Note
1. This must be the fast attack craft Calypso (P54), Evniki (P55), Kymothon (P53) and the Navsithoi (P56) of which the building at the shipyard of Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie, Cherbourg was ordered in 1969. With a displacement of 234 (standard)-255 (full load) tons were their dimensions 47 x 7,1 x 2,5 metres. The armament consisted in fact of 3x2-3,5cm guns, 2 torpedo tubes 9aft) and 4 MM 38 Exocet surface-to-surface. All four craft were launched in 1971 and commissioned in 1971-1972.
