American whaler Sappho in November 1864 cruising along the Chilean coast according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 24 January 1865

An item referred to a letter written by captain Coffin on board of the bark Sappho of New Bedford reporting that she was on 26 November 1864 cruising off the Chilean coast. Her catch consisted 700 barrels sperm oil and 200 (?) barrels whale oil.
