American whaler Triton lying in November 1872 at Honolulu according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 7 January 1873

An item referred to a letter written by captain Heppingstone on 4 December 1872 on board of the bark Triton of New Bedford lying at Honolulu reporting her returning from the Arctic with 275 barrels whale oil and 6.000 lbs. bone. The Syren would take the oil back to New Bedford. The bone were to be transported to San Francisco and from there by the railway to New Bedford. The Triton intended to depart the next day to the West and expected to arrive at Yokohama, Japan in spring 1873.
