United States Shipping Board steam harbour tug Valor in 1920


Design 1086 which was a Murray Watts design revised by J.H. Mathis Co., consisting of the Active, Beagle, Bear, Bison, Bullock, Burro, Camel, Diligent, Fort Howard, Green Bay, Lightning, Ox, Pointer, Pottawotomie, Sampson, Salem, Setter, Spaniel, Tomah, Whistler, Wizard, Energy, Ashwabemie, Persistence, Prowess, Force, Valor, Terrier, Beagle, Reindeer, Racehorse, Stallion, Foreman, Dragoman, Drayman, Badger Leopard, Buzzard, Hawk, Condor, Cockatoo, Porter, Hauler, Driver, Seminole, Talisman, Whistler, Wizard, Vanguard, Mastiff and Guardian.  Owner on 1 August 1920 was the United States Shipping Board. Wood-built. Gross tonnage 179 tons, net tonnage30 tons and as dimensions 94.10 (between perpendiculars)-101.4 (over all) x 24 (moulded) x 14.2 (moulded depth) feet. Built by A.C. Brown, Tottenville, New York. Later renamed Cavalier and Thomas F. O’Brien.
