Norwegian frigate ship Isabella stranded on the Dutch island Texel according to the Dutch newspaper Weekblad van Den Helder en het Nieuwediep dated 12 January 1857

An item reported that in the night of 4-5 January during a North East gale the Norwegian frigate ship Isabella captain Larsen of Drammen was stranded on the Eijerlandsche gronden, Texel. Around 12.00 o’clock was her aft ship smashed and went her crew of 15 men in the boat reaching a hour later safely the beach behind Akijab. The vice consul for Sweden and Norway came immediately and took care of them. They were with cars brought to Den Burg. The edition of 2 February published an announcement of the auction of rigging, anchors, masts and what was left of her hull on Monday the 9th 10.00 o’clokc at Cocksdorp, Eijerland (Texel). She was underway with a cargo of timber from Drammen towards London.
