Abandoned bark Veritas brought into Den Helder by Belgians according to the Dutch newspaper Weekblad van Den Helder en het Nieuwediep dated 31 May 1858

An item dated Den Helder the 29th reported that on last Thursday the Belgian fishery sloop Jonge Marie master Corwijn arrived with on tow the leaking bark ship Veritas loaded with timber and found floating off the Doggersbank abandoned by her crew.
