An item referred to the letter written by captain Halsey on board of the Jireh Perry of New Bedford lying on 7 November at Honolulu, Hawaii. She returned from the Arctic with a catch of 575 barrels whale oil and 9.000 lbs bone to be transferred to the Ceylon. The Jireh Perry intended to cruise to the North in the new season.
