Dutch bark ship Jan Pietersoon Koen made very fast voyage from Philadelphia towards Stettin according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 6 August 1887

An item reported that the Dutch bark ship Jan Pieterszoon Koen captain Spanjer belonging to the firm De Groof&Co. of Vlissingen arrived after a voyage of just 30 days at Stettin, Prussia coming from Philadelphia, USA. She left Philadelphia on 3 July loaded with refined petrol, passed Delaware Breakwater the next day, Elsinore on 2 August arriving at Stettin, Swinemünde early in the morning of the 4th. Usually were 45-50 days needed for such a voyage.
