Dutch frigate ship Bellatrix arrived at den Helder, Netherlands with thieves on board Nieuwe Courant van Den Helder dated Wednesday 25 January 1865

An item dated Den Helder the 24th reported the arrival on last Friday of the Dutch frigate ship Bellatrix captain Bellatrix. Immediately warned her captain the police reporting that during the homeward bound voyage a capital of more as 300 Dutch guilders was stolen from the sailor A. Some times later sailor B. came to the captain asking him to keep a capital in paper money while he feared that his money would also be stolen. Further more he mentioned three crewmembers which could be the thieves. The latter were interrogated but nothing could be found despite the thoroughly search of their beds and properties. Finally two men were kept in the prison and finally it became that the sailors B. and C. were the thieves. Sailor B was the same men which asked the captain to kept his money. In his shoes were 24 guineas with total value of 288 Dutch guilders found back. The silver coins were thrown over board. Sailor C. was considered to be accessory.
