Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Pollux departed Texel, Netherlands bound for the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Midelburgsche Courant dated 24 November 1829

An item reported that the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Pollux captain Eeg departed Texel, Netherlands towards Batavia, Dutch East Indies with on board captain Waardenburg which was promoted to the position of commanding officer and chief for the Royal Netherlands Navy in the Dutch East Indies.

1. A so-called ‘kuil’corvette, laid down at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands  September 1822 by P. Glavimans, launched 13 March 1824, stricken and broken up 1838, displacement 900 tons, dimensions 36 x 10 metres and 28 guns.
