Dutch screw steam ship 4th class Zr.Ms. Apeldoorn departed Den Helder, Netherlands bound fro Surinam according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Courant van Den Helder dated 12 June 1861

An item dated Den Helder, Netherlands the 11th reported that the Dutch screw steam flotilla vessel Zr.Ms. Apeldoorn a day earlier departed towards the roads to depart with the first favourable moment towards Surinam. Her trials at sea were excellent, under steam was her speed 7,5 mile and with some sails and some wind 6 miles.(1)
