Movements of Dutch warships Zr.Ms. Nehalennia, Curacao, Javaan and Echo around Vlissingen, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 26 October 1830

An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands the 23rd reported the arrival on the 21st of the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Nehalennia (1) captain lieutenant J.C. Rijk returning from the Dutch East Indies with on board lieutenant general De Kock. The latter travelled with the Dutch steam packet Zr.Ms. Curacao (2) towards Bath to go from there via Rotterdam to The Hague. Furthermore arrived the Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Javaan (3) and the brig Zr.Ms. Echo.(4)

1. ‘A so-called ‘kuil’ corvette, on stocks at naval yard at Vlissingen, Netherlands 1825, launched 22 September 1827, guard ship 1847, stricken and sold to be broken up 1856, dimensions 36,50m x 10,30m x ?, 776 tons, displacement, 28 guns.
2. Built in 1825 at Dover as the Calpe for the American and Colonial Steam Navigation Company, purchased in 1826 by the Dutch government and in 1846 sold to be broken up. Displacement 42 tons. Horsepower 106 hp and speed 8 knots.
3. Frigate 2nd class, Netherlands, launched at by Waller, Bantjar, Rembang, Dutch East Indies 1824, last mentioned 1833, 44 guns.
4. on stocks at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands 1824, launched 28 March 1827, stricken 1853, dimensions 31,50m x 9,50m x 4,50m, 546 tons displacement, 18 guns.
