Tromp, completed 6½/20 1 January 1851, commission to examine the budget over 1855 advices to stop the building due to her worse design and replace her by a vessel of a new design 11 November 1854, discussion in the 2nd Chamber of the Dutch parliament over budget 1857 reports the intention to complete her using the experiences gained with the Zeehond although elsewhere is said that there was still no decision made, building stopped in 1857 (?), displacement 497,5 tons, as dimensions 30,5 (between perpendiculars) x 9,5 (inner hull) x 3,7 (fore)-4,5 (aft) x 4,5 (depth below deck) and an armament of 12 30-pd grenade guns.
