Dutch ship Admiraal Jan Evertsen transported troops to the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche courant dated 13 November 1856

An item reported the intended departure on the 19th of a detachment of 150 non-commissioned officers and soldiers from Harderwijk, Netherlands to embark on the 21st at Nieuwediep, Netherlands the Dutch ship Admiraal Jan Evertsen bound for the Dutch East Indies. The detachment was commanded by captain H.J. Doorman accompanied by 2nd lieutenants W.A.J.J. Kraal, G.C.E. van Daalen and H.J. Kuipers and the officer of health 3rd class E. van Hengel.
