Independent privateers lying off Bonaire according to the Dutch newspaper De Curacaosche courant dated 4 September 1819

An item referred to tidings received from Bonaire on yesterday that there three schooner privateers were lying in the roads belonging to the squadron of Brion. (1) It was a 225 ton schooner armed with 10-12pdrs and 60 man, commanded by captain Orne, a 60 ton schooner with 1 long 12 pdr and 20 men commanded by Codis and a schooner of 70 ton armed with 1 long 12 pdr and 25 men. They visited Bonaire for provisions but as these were not available a departure on short notice was to be expected.
