American whaler Alto lying in May at Barbadoes according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 7 June 1864

An item referred to a letter dated 13th May written by captain Nye of the bark Alto of Fairhaven reported her lying at Barbadoes where 185 barrels of sperm oil was unloaded for transport to the USA. She herself was to depart within 3 days of a new voyage. Agents Damon&Judd. She departed on 10 November 1862 bound for the Atlantic. Measured 283 (?) tons.
