Spanish boat destroyer Terror according to the Dutch newspaper De grondwet dated 17 May 1898

An item reported that the Spanish destroyer Terror was of the factorships of the world. She was armed with the usual small quick firing guns and torpedo tubes, had a measurement of 406 tons and her crew numbered 72 men. She was called a torpedo boat destroyer, a type of warships relatively unknown.(1)

1. Laid down at the shipyard of Thomson (later known as the Clydebank Engineering&Shipbuilding Co., England on 9 February 1896, launched on 28 August, commissioned on 20 November, fitted out for mine laying in 1920,  and finally broken up in 1924. With a displacement of 370 tons were her dimensions 67,07 x 6,71 x 1,68 metres or 220’0” x 22’0” x 5’6”. The horsepower of 6.000 ihp made a speed of 28 knots possible. Her crew numbered 67 men. The armament consisted of 2-14pd quick firing guns, 8-6pd quick firing guns, 2-1pd Maxim machineguns and 2 torpedo tubes.
