An item reported that the Spanish armoured cruiser had a measurement of around 7.000 tons and a length of 340 feet. Her speed was more as 20 knots. Her armament consisted of 2-11” guns, 10-5.5” guns , 8-6pd guns and 8-1pd guns. The armour protected the most important parts of the ship and had a thickness of 12”.(1)

1. Of the Infanta Maria Teresa-class with a displacement of 6.890 tons and as dimensions 110,95 x 19,86 x 6,55 (maximum) metres or 364’0” x 65’2” x 21’6”. Her speed with a forced draft was i20,2 knots. The armament consisted of 2-28cm/11” guns, 10-14cm/5.5” guns, 8-12pd quick firing guns, 1-3pd revolver guns, 10 machineguns and 8 torpedo tubes (of which two submerged). Her armour consisted of a 10”/25,4cm-12”/30,5cm thick belt, a 2”/5.1cm-3”/7,6cm thick deck while the barbettes and conning tower were protected by respectively 9”/22,9cm and 12”/30,5cm. Laid down in 1889 at Bilbao, Spain, launched on 8 July 1891, completed 1893 was she sunk in the Battle of Santiago de Cuba with the US navy on 3 July 1898 during the Spanish-American war.
