Whaling season in the Arctic nearly ended to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag dated 19 November 1879

An item reported that the whaling season in the Arctic Ocean came to end for that year. The famous Norwegian whaler Sven Fohn catches 83 whales with a profit of 450.000 crones. The Norwegian steamship Jardfjord catches 43 whales. The Scottish whalers active in Davis Strait captured just 63 whales.
