French squadron commanded by vice admiral De Mackau kept in reserve regarded situation in Spain according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 15 July 1843

An item dated Paris, France 10^th reported that the squadron commanded by vice admiral De Mackau which was to depart from Toulon, France for cruising along the Italian coasts was ordered not to depart. The squadron was held back as a reserve to act if the Spanish affairs made this necessary.
