Libyan frigate (ex-SKR-195) Al Ghardabia (213) 1985-2011

A Soviet modified Koni class (project 1159TR) frigate laid down at the Krasniy Metallist Zavod, Zednodolsk, Russia with hull number 846 on 18 April 1985, launched on 27 April 1986 and renamed Al Ghardabia and commissioned 24 October 1987. She was in the Libyan Civil War sunk during the Libyan a British NATO-attack at the Tripoli harbour on 20 May 2011. By the NATO called Koni-II. The armament consisted of 4-40,6 cm torpedo tubes, 2x2-7,62cm machineguns, 2x2-3cm anti aircraft guns, 4 P-20.21 Termit (SS-N-2C Styx) SSM, 1-2 rail OSA-M (SA-N-4) SAM system (20 9M-33 Gecko missiles) and 1-12 round RBU-6000 ASW RL with 60 RGB-60 rockets). With a displacement of 1.440 (light)-1.596 (normal)-1.676 (full load) tons. The 18.000 shp M-813 gas turbine and 2x9.000 ship type 68B diesels supplied totally 36.000 bhp allowing a speed of 22 (diesels)-27-29,67 (trials) knots. With a speed of just below the 15 knots was her range 4.546 nautical miles. Her crew numbered 96 men.
