Dutch monitor Zr.Ms. Cerberus collided with the frigate Evertsen according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 31 August 1885


An item dated Nieuwdiep, Netherlands 28th reported that the in the afternoon of the 30th with high tide the Dutch monitor Zr.Ms. Cerberus collided with the frigate Evertsen. Both ships were slightly damaged.(1)

1. On stocks at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on Saturday 30 November 1867, launched on 14 January 1869, trial on 7 July 1870, commissioned on 20 July 1870. Decommissioned in 1905 and sold to be broken up in 1906 to the firm G.B. Pas&Zn., Bolnes, Netherlands. Dimensions 54,08-56,60 (over all) x 13,33 x 3,91 metres, a displacement of 1.530 tons and original an armament of 2 rifled 28cm guns.
