Dutch monitor Zr.Ms. Tijger sold according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag dated 12 December 1895

An item reported that the Dutch monitor Zr.Ms. Tijger built in 1867 would be sold on a public auction lacking all fighting value. Another newspaper Telegraaf dated 24 January 1896 reported that’s he was sold Huijgens en Van Gelder at Amsterdam, Netherlands for ƒ 17.010.(1)

1. Laid down at the shipyard of Napier&Sons, Glasgow, Scotland in 1867, launched in 1868, trial on 2 July 1868, decommissioned on 10 December 1895. Dimensions 57,00 x 13.41 x 2,80 metres, displacement 1.414 ton and original armed with 2-28cm rifled guns o=in one turret. Since 1886 1-28cm gun, 1-7,5cm gun, 2-3,7cm guns and 2-3,7cm revolver guns.
