Italian auxiliary cruiser Citta di Messina and French escort destroyer destroyed by submarine according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 27 June 1916

An item dated Paris, France 26th reported that the Italian auxiliary cruiser Citta di Messina and a French escort destroyer were torpedoed in the Strait of Otranto by a submarine. The major part of their crews was saved.
