Dutch East Indiaman Zaamslag bound for the Dutch East Indies in 1687

Yacht/pinnace. She left on 29 November 1687, Wielingen, visited Cape of Good Hope, South Africa between 11 April-4 May 1688 and arrived at Batavia, Dutch East Indies on 31 July 1688. Her crew numbered 89 (arrival)-92 (departure) sailors and further more 65 (arrival)-67 (departure) soldiers. On stocks by Penne at E.I.C-yard at Middelburg, Netherlands for account of the Chamber Zealand in 1686, launched on 4 February 1687. Dimensions 130-131.8 (prow) 33 1/3 x 13½. length hold 92.8 feet. Dutch measurement cargo capacity 278 last, measurement at Batavia, Dutch East Indies cargo capacity 250 last. Measured November 1693 capacity of hold gross 33965.13¾ cubic feet, net 31003.51½ cubic feet. Tonnage 585 metric tons.
