Dutch East Indiaman Langewijk bound for the Dutch East Indies in 1687

Fluyt. She left on 30 December 1687 Texel, Netherlands with as captain Theodorus Geelkerken, visited Cape of Good Hope, South Africa between 19 April-14 May 1688 and arrived at Batavia, Dutch East Indies on 8 August 1688. Her crew numbered 52 (arrival)-55 (departure) sailors and further more 48 (arrival)- (departure) soldiers 54. Launched by Seger Potter at the E.I.C.-yard for account of the chamber Enkhuizen at the Wierdijk, Enkhuizen, Netherlands 1682, dimensions 130 x 29 x 13 feet, Dutch measurement cargo capacity 278 last, measurement at Batavia, Dutch East Indies cargo capacity 250 last and tonnage 544 metric tons.
