American whaler California destined towards the Sea of Ochotsk according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 30 August 1859

A letter written by captain West on board of the whaler California of New Bedford, USA dated Monganui , New Zealand 20^th March reported the death on the 19^th of cooper Jacob Volz. She was destined towards the Sea of Ochotsk.
