USS screw steam sloop USS Lancaster passing Vlissingen, Netherlands bound towards open sea according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 25 August 1900

An item reported the passing at 17.30 o'clock of Vlissingen, Netherlands by the USS Lancaster commanded by Mansfield coming from Antwerp, Belgium. (1)

Screw steam sloop laid down at the Philadelphia navy Yard, USA in December 1857, launched on 20 October 1868, commissioned on 12 May 1859, decommissioned on 1 May 1902, stricken on 31 December 1915, became quarantine detention ship used by the US Public Health until 1920, handed over the New York Quarantine Station and finally broken up in 1933.
