British bark Cambrian Chieftain loaded with nitrate arrived at Gent, Belgium according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 9 March 1896

An item reported the arrival at Gent, Belgium via the canal at Terneuzen, Netherlands of the British bark Cambrian Chieftain, the largest ship until now entering the canal. To pass the locks needed she to unload 600 tons merchandise into lighters. Loaded with nitrate came she from Iquique, Chile. Dimensions 230 x 37.5 x 22.5 (at arrival at Terneuzen) feet.
