An item dated Paris, France 10th reported
that the British cabinet want to stay strictly in the between France, Sardinia
and the United Provinces of Central Italy against Austria.(1) For this purpose
she forbade the use of British transports by the French army. It was doubtful
if France
even needed these transports. Rear admiral Dupouy was to command a flotilla
consisting of the imperial yachts, gun sloops and floating batteries with 6.000
military of the shock troops embarked for landings along the Adriatic coast to
act against Austria.
