French fleet lying at Vulpa, Turkey probably destined for Greece according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 7 March 1850

An item dated Frankfurt, Germany 2nd reported that the French fleet consisting of 6 ships of the line, 1 frigate and 3 steamships which was lying anchored on 9th February in the harbour of Vurla [Aistaic Turkey on the south side of the Gulf of Smyrna] was bound for Piraeus [Greece] or for Mytilene [Greece].
