Russian paddle steam frigate Kamchatka underway from the Netherlands towards Denmark according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated Saturday 6 July 1850

An item dated Middelburg, Netherlands 5th reported that on Tuesday after a visit of 14 days the Russian steam frigate Kamchatka (1) left the naval harbour Den Helder, Netherlands towards Copenhagen, Denmark and from there to Swinemunde, Germany [nowadays Swinoujscie, Poland]. There was the Duke of Leuchtenberg.(2) to come on board again.

1. Paddle steam frigate, launched at the shipyard of William Brown, New York, USA on 24 April 1840, launched on 4 November 1840, stricken on 28 May 1866 and broken up in 1867. The armament consisted of 2-9.65” shell guns, 12/16-24pd long guns and 2-60pd guns.
2. Probably Maximilian de Beauharnais (2 October 1817 Munich, Bavaria-1 November 1852 St. Petersburg, Russia).
