Dutch screw steamship 4th class Sambas in 1880 according to the Colonial Account [Dutch East Indies] over 1881

Composite-built. Launched in 1875. Armed with 3 guns. Draught 3,5 metres. Horsepower 90nhp. Tonnage 350 tons. Maximum speed during a watch of 4 hours 6-7 geographic miles while under steam. Arrived on 8 October 1874 in the Dutch East Indies. Her crew numbered on 31 December 1879 68 Europeans and 34 natives. Stationed at the station Northern Sumatra until 11 October 1880 and then replaced by the Benkoelen. On 13th November as being over complete at Surabaya temporarily stricken.(1)

Coppered, call sign GQTL, on stocks at the shipyard N.S.M., Fijenoord, Netherlands in 1873, launched in 1874, fitted out with new boilers 2 April-1 November 18777, decommissioned on 21 February 1896, condemned and sold at the naval establishment at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies for ƒ 10.000 on Monday 13 April 1896 , served in the Dutch East Indies, displacement 732 tons, dimensions 42 (between perpendiculars)-45 (over all) x 8,8 x 3,6 metres, horsepower 90 nhp/370 ehp, speed 9,5 miles, armament original: 1 rifled 18cm gun, 2-12cm guns, later increased with 1-7,5cm gun and 2-3,7cm guns and a crew numbering 100 men (76 Europeans and 24 natives).
